- Vanessa had never smoked before "American Dreams". She may look like a pro on the show, but Gail O'Grady actually taught
her how to act smoke in her trailer before the filming of the pilot. Gail told her it was all about the attitude
- Vanessa almost lost the part of "Roxanne Bojarski". According to Jonathan Prince her parents weren't happy with
her taking off her shirt and being seen in her bra in the pilot of "American Dreams".
- Vanessa is a huge dog lover, she takes part in many dog charties/foundations.
- In the pilot episode of "American Dreams", Vanessa was afraid she wasn't going to be able to cry at the end of it because
she had only done comedy before this. (She handled the scene very well)

- She loves the song "Sk8ter Boi" by Avril Lavigne, and memorized all the lyrics to it because she wakes up every morning to it, she said in a canadian TV Interview with Star TV.
- Vanessa is about the same height as Brittany Snow, on the show American Dreams.

- Vanessa was very happy to get the role of Roxanne Bojarski for American Dreams. She says up to that point, she had always played perky always happy kiddy roles. It was a chance for her to play someone she wasn't always.

- From observations of her at the latest Museum of Television & Radio event on March 11th, Vanessa has overcome some of shyness and is starting to be more outgoing like her oldself.
- Vanessa takes turn alternating live with one parent in an apartment complex in California. So either she lives with her mom or dad, and then alternate after a certain period.
- Vanessa goes to "school" for 3 hours a day in between working on American Dreams.

- She and her co-star Brittany get into silly situations, usually at around 5:23pm her local time and then not much work gets done on the set as they play around and get "slap-happy" then.
- When she finishes the shoot she goes back to her apartment, work out, maybe have time for a shower then go to sleep to begin early the next day all over again.
- Vanessa is 5'3.
- She alongside co-star of AD, Brittany Snow make their singing debut on the American Dreams soundtrack singing back-up on the song "My Boyfriend's Back" performed by Stacie Orrico.
- She does keep in email communication with her "SPONK" friends.
- Has been nominated as part of a group ensemble categories twice for a Young Artist Award, back in 2000 for her role in the movie Ratz, and for being part of the ensemble of American Dreams this year. Vanessa didn't win either nomination.
- Vanessa and Brittany invented their own interpretive 60's stylish dances for American Dreams focusing on how they perceive their characters would dance.
- She wants a Fully loaded Jetta V6 as her first car.
- She likes the Harry Potter series, but enjoys the first book "The Philosopher's Stone" more.
- She and fellow American Dreams star Brittany Snow won an Award at the 5th Annual Family Television awards on August 14th 2003 for "Favorite Girl Friends" on American Dreams. (Captures from this event are in the Gallery)
- Vanessa used to be associated with Rozon Mercer management out in Montreal, Quebec. Now she is no longer with them.
- Vanessa relates to Roxanne character on AD, they are both teens and the concept is universal and timeless and they experience same stuff in any age whether the 60's, 20's, or today. Vanessa believes Roxanne can be a caring person like she is. Vanessa would never be as outspoken or promiscuous as the Roxanne character or as wild. Every now and then a bit of Vanessa's side slips into Roxanne's character.
- Vanessa's pet peeves are bullies and being treated differently cuz she's an actress.
- Vanessa made it somewhat of a goal to defend people from bullies who seem defenseless.
